Many today go through the motions of work, television, dinner, and sleep and follow its routines as rituals. This is not because they intend to; but due to the culture we live which dictates twenty days for holidays and if you lucky two days rest in a week. Gone are the days of adventure and risk taking. Everything today is calculated according to health and safety standards. The sterile environment we live in is secure and assuring but we are dying as a nation for the lack of creativity. Identity is confused by the adoption of designer names and products. Juveniles watch a confused world where a man does not know whether “he is Arthur or Martha.” All these typical expressions in our day would probably appal a generation a century ago for the decadence and the toleration we accept. But we don’t care if we are slaves to our masters, controlled by society’s morality for we have checked our brains at the door saying, “what’s in it for me.”
