We live in a day and age where the drive for success is no longer defined by happiness or contentment but rather material possessions. Many work all their lives investing their time and youth for the ability to “have a good life” or “leave something for their kids.” In accomplishing their goals they later become old and weak, not able to enjoy or taste, see, or smell as they once did. Thus the question arises, “Was it worth it?” What then is true success? Is it having a successful career, money in the bank, possessions galore? In light of one’s health; how important is success compared to a healthy body without disability. The cripple or sick millionaire would in an instant surrender his wealth for a healthier body. However the conundrum is that the many healthy bodies today are surrendering their souls for wealth. The sacrificing of health, family, and quality of life are but a small price to pay for a life that is here and gone tomorrow…or is it?
